The Training Program for Certified Public Psychologists

Overview

The Training Program for Certified Public Psychologists trains certified psychologists, who are experts in the psychological profession. In addition to specialized knowledge such as psychotherapy and psychological testing, students learn attitudes and multidisciplinary cooperation as professionals required in various fields such as healthcare, education, welfare, justice, and industry. Specifically, in the first year of the Master’s course, students learn role-plays of counseling and psychological testing through lectures and exercises, and from the second semester of the first year to the second year, they receive training including practice with people who need support through external training. In addition to clinical psychology, students can engage in research in a wide range of psychological fields such as cognitive psychology, learning psychology, and health psychology, and the program also emphasizes the cultivation of qualities as researchers. Our goal is not only to obtain a license as a licensed psychologist, but also to train professionals who have a good balance of knowledge, research, and practice in psychology.
