Application Instructions

What is research students?

Research students can receive guidance from a faculty member of the graduate school on a specific research theme.
They may also audit classes in the undergraduate and graduate school, but will not be able to earn credits.
Enrollment timing is twice a year, in April and October, for a period of one year or  six months in principle (extensions may be granted if deemed necessary).
Passing status for entrance examination is determined on the basis of the document screening and interview (also available online).

If you wish to contact a faculty member whom you expect to be your supervisor, please check their research and contact information on the website above, and contact them directly by sending e-mail. When contacting a faculty member, please explain your previous course work, your desired research theme and plan, and the reason for your application so that they can give you appropriate advice. (Please attach your CV and research plan to the e-mail.)
